Motors for Music

Motors for Music is a charity car show to benefit the music program at San Marcos High School. These are not your ordinary musicians… the marching band, Knight Regiment, at 300 members is one of the largest, most-admired ensembles in the state – recently ranked among the top 4 in the 2017 Regional Bands of America competition in Los Angeles. Three  award-winning Jazz Bands, two Winter Guard squads, four talented Concert Bands, and an annual multi-media live stage show called AXIOM that will blow you away! These students are dedicated, strive for excellence and don’t ever shy away from hard work!

Your participation in the Motors for Music Charity Car Show will help support the expenses associated with coaching, tournaments and championship competition (bus transportation, entry fees, equipment, props, costumes and more) that are not covered by the school district funds. So come on out, have a great time and support a great program that teaches students the value of teamwork, perseverance, skill-building and making friendships that will last a lifetime.

Mattress Sale

New, with warranty, Name Brand Mattresses, 30-50% below store prices.

Every mattress sold benefits SMHS band and takes the pressure off the parents that already donate so much to this fantastic program.

Our band program is one of the top in the state, and we are a donation only program. That means that no matter what each family can afford every child can play and benefit from a group of amazing instructors. It takes over $100,000 to keep it going above the district budget which hardly covers instrument repair. Many of these kids have the benefit of using school instruments which cost anywhere from $800 to $30,000!

That means that no matter what each family can afford, every child can play and benefit from a group of amazing instructors.

If you are in the market for a new mattress or know someone who is looking for a new bed, please keep us in mind!

Rehearse-A-Thon 2018 – March to the Arch

September 15th, 2018 – 1PM – 9PM

Knight Regiment, is the largest high school marching band in the county at 280 total members. We are known for exciting and creative shows as well as award-winning performances at competitive tournaments.

Music practice began in June, the week after the 2017/18 school year ended. Band and Color Guard students practiced during the week to learn music and movements in preparation for Summer Music Academy beginning in August. The whole of Knight Regiment reunited beginning July 30th for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, to perfect this year’s field show “Ritual” through music, marching, and teamwork/leadership lessons.

School has begun and rehearsal time has been reduced to 3 hours after school, 4 days a week. To make sure their show is the best that it can be, Knight Regiment is holding an 8-hour Rehearse-A-Thon, allowing them to fine-tune ‘Ritual’ in readiness for tournament season.

Knight Regiment has a special goal this year to raise the funds needed to make it to St. George, Utah for the BOA Regional Championships.

Rehearse-A-Thon 2018 is our primary fundraiser for ‘March to the Arch’ tournament expenses and transportation. We need to raise $40,000 to make the trip a reality!

Are you a business who would like to sponsor ‘March to the Arch’? Email vpfundraising@sanmarcosbands.org! We would love to work with you!

Thank you to all that supported the amazing efforts of SMHS Music Students! They have met and exceeded their goal raising $58,000! This covers 80% of their trip! Final funds were raised through our Mattress Sale, Pool Party and Jazz in Havana. Time for Utah!
